The Flaming Lips

Christina Mazza, 31 (left) holds her sister 30 year-old sister Lisa Mazza’s hand before the two began a live-donor liver transplant at the Thomas E. Starzl Transplantation Institute, January 15, 2010. Christina has been diagnosed with hereditary amyloidosis, a debilitating and life-threatening disease that attacks the liver and took the life of the girls’ mother in 1986. Lisa donated 65% of her healthy liver to Christina.
